This smart little device consists of a fixed camera, which you can easily position in the direction you want, and a PTZ camera. The 2.8 mm wide-angle lens of the fixed camera offers an ultra-wide 110° view for broad coverage, while the 6 mm telephoto lens of the PTZ camera captures razor-sharp details with a horizontal viewing angle of 58°. Both cameras feature powerful 4 MP lenses. The PTZ camera can rotate 360 degrees left and right, and tilt 93 degrees up and down. On top of that, this camera can zoom in and out too.
An extra handy feature of this dual camera is that it springs into action automatically whenever it detects movement. You can also add your own special areas of interest, so that live footage of those spots appears instantly on your smartphone. Super handy if your dog gets up to mischief or your kids start crying. The Xiaomi C500 Dual recognizes this through Pet Detection and Crying Baby Detection and sends a notification straight to your phone.
By the way, the device works excellently both day and night. You can choose between a night mode in black and white or in colour. Infrared ensures you capture even better footage at night, without any distracting red lights around the camera. Naturally, this Xiaomi home camera also comes with two-way microphones and speakers. That way you can speak to your child, dog or cat, whether that's a stern warning or a loving word.
Flexible usage options
This dual camera from Xiaomi's collection is compatible with Google Home, Alexa and Xiaomi Home, among others. This device supports Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, allowing both cameras to interact with other smart devices in your Xiaomi household. When the C500 Dual detects movement, you could, for example, have the lights in your living room turn on automatically!
Thanks to wifi (version 6), footage is always transmitted smoothly. You can then save this footage to a MicroSD card (up to 256 GB), a NAS or in the cloud. The C500 Dual comes with a mounting plate, so you can attach it to the wall or ceiling however you like.
