This isn't the first time Xiaomi has introduced a product like this! The Xiaomi Mi TV Box was added to Xiaomi's range earlier. This new model, however, has several improvements over its predecessor. For instance, the model is smaller, comes with the latest version of Android (8.1 Oreo) and offers support for Google Cast and Assistant.
Measuring just 9.5 by 9.5 centimeters, the Xiaomi Mi Box S is barely noticeable next to a TV. On top of that, the model has an exceptionally slim design! The black color of the Xiaomi Mi Box S gives the device a modern look.
Xiaomi Mi Box S is even better than its predecessor
Xiaomi didn't just make its new Mi Box S slimmer than this device's predecessor. The Xiaomi Mi Box S is also only 17 millimeters thick, and the remote comes with a handy Assistant and Netflix button. That way, you can switch to either app on the device in a flash. Besides these differences, there are a few similarities to note with the Xiaomi Mi Box. This new version, for example, just like its predecessor, features the Amlogic S905X Cortex A53 cores and an ARM Mali 450 GPU. The 2GB of DDR3 memory and 8GB of eMMC storage are the same too.
The Xiaomi Mi Box S makes it possible to stream in 4K resolution, using HDR. The Mi Box S also once again supports Dolby Digital Plus and DTS HD for the sharpest images and optimal audio!
